Akin Free Library

Akin Free Library The Akin Free Library sits atop Quaker Hill in Pawling, NY. Today it's a cultural center for Dutchess, NY.

Built by the Akin Hall Association, which was made up of 11 Quaker Hill families, it was constructed between 1898 and 1908 as a community library.

Goodbye 2020, hello 2021! Check out what we've been going through in the Akin Free Library Book Attic. Hollow Terracotta bricks used in the external walls. These unused ones were probably left when the building was completed.
