I watched Disney movies in The Victory Theater as a kid, enjoyed Arkansas Public Theatre plays here, and listened to Pat Metheny here weeks before the 2024 tornadoes hit our area. So happy to see it reopening!

I’m rethinking cut flowers this year.

I’m open to buying annuals in bloom—enjoying them indoors, then planting them in the garden.

These dwarf zinnias (roots and all) from Matkins Flowers & Greenhouse in Bentonville were tucked into a low container for a book club gathering. Later, they’ll move into my garden.

Tip: Water the plants and let them drain. This makes the soil softer and easier to place, plus helps the plants last a few days inside.

A talk in the Compton Hotel was a perfect reason to see this new hotel on the Bentonville square – and show off a few favorite shops to a friend.

Hemma Homewares shifts your mood the moment you walk in—quiet, beautiful, fragrant, inspiring. I lingered over a tablecloth I may need to go back for… and their taper candles? Every color you could want.

Marrs on Main is always a treat—and now it opens onto the new pedestrian park across from . Table settings and housewares are their forte, but I also love browsing the unique toys and inspiring books.

The Compton Hotel lobby celebrates Arkansas and is welcoming to people who want to bring their computers and work. Coffee shop included!

Captured a quiet moment mid-afternoon, but The Eddy was buzzing soon after.

I have seen this exhibit before. The art and the stories are inspiring. Highly recommended looking for it at the Bentonville Public Library. Even better, listen to the talk.

Please join us for an engaging discussion with the artist, Tram Colwin of the exhibit, What We Carry along with selected refugee participants and a representative from Canopy NWA, in a moderated Q&A session. What We Carry is a collection of watercolor still-life paintings of items that local immigrants and refugees carried with them on their journey to America.

The discussion will explore the inspiration behind the artworks, the collaboration process, and the stories of resilience and hope shared by the refugees. The Q&A session will begin with a series of prepared questions directed at the artist, selected refugee participants, and a representative from Canopy NWA. For the second half of the session, the panelists will respond to questions from the audience.

Last Wednesday night a dozen friends gathered at Lasang Pinoy NWA - to experience their weekly Mongolian BBQ & Bingo. Tonight, their rotating Chef's Special is the dish that won People's Choice recognition at 2025 Top Chef NWA! Find more info on their FB page.

It was not only delicious, but fun! One friend had a magic bingo card that won 3 times! There would a few bingo games, then a few Karaoke songs from the audience, then back to bingo. The staff interacted with everyone. This wasn’t the kind of evening where everyone was staring at their phones.

Tonight is a good night to get out before we get snowed in!
