Beautiful new Hubble image of M88, a spiral galaxy in the Virgo Cluster about 63 million light-years away. It was first seen in 1781 by French astronomer Charles Messier, who included it in his list of 110 faint, fuzzy objects in the sky that aren't comets.

The crescent Moon passed between Venus and Jupiter last night, all three seen here above the rocket trail left by a SpaceX Falcon 9 launch a little earlier. Tonight (Wednesday, May 20) the Moon will be above Jupiter, make sure and take a look!
