We host a diverse range of local art exhibitions and a Artist in Residence Program in the summer. The 1,300-square foot Gallery is part of the Center for Fine and Performing Arts. It is committed to exhibiting diverse, vibrant visual arts created by faculty, students and community members, and to embedding arts programming within the curriculum. Exhibits at the Gallery – both in the main exhibit s

pace and along the outside wall – have spanned a wide range of media and styles, from traditional art to interactive, multi-media installations. The Gallery is named on behalf of the Walter E. Terhune, following a donation in 2003 to the Owens Community College Foundation from KeyBank’s Terhune Memorial Fund. Terhune Memorial Fund was created by Mr. Terhune’s daughter, Alice Crosby Terhune, to honor her father who was a longtime Toledo businessman and philanthropist. Terhune was an owner and officer of Clark and Terhune Lumber Merchants, a successful lumber company in the 1800s.

COMING SOON!
We’re excited to announce our upcoming Artist in Residency featuring artists Leslie Ann Watza and Lindsay Scypta.

Leslie Ann Watza( First Photo) is a multidisciplinary artist whose work bridges painting and kiln-formed glass, using light, color, and transparency to create pieces that shift with their environment. Rooted in traditional painting and shaped by years in arts education, her practice transforms expressive, fluid gestures into layered glass compositions that balance spontaneity with control.

Lindsay Scypta (Second Photo) creates intricate porcelain works inspired by Gothic architecture, Victorian design, and the history of the dining table. Her interactive, stacked tableware reimagines shared meals as spaces for connection and ritual. Since her breast cancer diagnosis in 2023, Lindsay has begun incorporating hidden porcelain flowers into her work, exploring themes of privacy, healing, and personal agency while expanding toward larger-scale installations.

Join us as both artists develop new work and share their evolving practices with the community throughout this residency at The Walter E. Terhune Art Gallery. Classes will be held from June 4th - July 31st
