Over the last several weeks, we’ve continued adding new display cases and artifacts throughout the museum, many of which were uncovered during the ongoing restoration of the property itself. From antique medicine bottles and clay marbles to fragments of wallpaper hidden within the walls for decades, each item helps tell a deeper story about the people who once lived, worked, and sought care inside this historic home.

One of the most rewarding parts of restoring the Dr. J.J. Polk House has been discovering how much history was still waiting to be uncovered beneath the floors, behind the walls, and inside the structure itself. These displays are only the beginning, and we look forward to continuing to expand the museum experience as more artifacts are preserved and documented.
