PIAF to Consider Global Effects of Iran War

The Peterborough International Affairs Forum will devote its May 7 meeting to “The Iran War: Stress Tests for the World.” The conflict began on Feb. 28 when Israel and the United States launched major strikes on Iranian military and political installations.
Moderators will be Dan Gros and Tony Pascale of Peterborough and Jay Schechter of Dublin..
“Given the fluid nature of events in the region, it’s unclear how or when the war may end,” Schechter said. “We will discuss the global implications as the war continues.”
Schechter is a native of New Jersey with a degree in political science from Montclair State College. Formerly the owner of a manufacturer’s representative company in the plumbing and heating industry, he’s had a lifelong interest in politics, history, and foreign affairs.
Grosz has a degree in political science from Boston University and a master’s degree in law and diplomacy from the Fletcher School at Tufts University. His career included merchant banking, management consulting, corporate information technology and the presidency of a software development company. He lived and worked in Hong Kong for 10 years. His interests include Middle East politics and American national security strategy.
Pascale spent more than 40 years in international manufacturing management before retiring to Peterborough.
The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the Mariposa Museum and World Culture Center, 26 Main St., Peterborough. Admission is by donation.
Meetings of the PIAF will lapse June-August and resume on Sept. 3.
