What a wonderful day we had at the Children and the Arts Festival here in Peterborough! We had a few of our Blue Fern artists come make cyanotype fern crowns with the children in the “Hands On” area of the festival! And it was a blast! Blue Fern Gallery loves being a part of this wonderfully, creative community!!

We have several new artists that have joined the Blue Fern Gallery in the past couple weeks! Let us introduce you!!

Artist Spotlight 🌱 Bev Gelfand- Miniatures

Bev specializes in small and 1:12 scale miniature paintings (proportioned for a dollhouse), but don’t let her preferred choice of the size of her work distract you from the level of detail. From hyper-realistic watercolors to oil paints painstakingly applied with a single-haired brush, the paintings may be small but they are full of intricacy, artistry, and focus. Bev has a particular passion for capturing light in paint, evidenced through a single candle glowing in a pagoda at dusk, the reflections of light off the surface of a glass ornament, or the folds of a tablecloth in an oil-painted still life study following the grand master traditions. Her portfolio ranges from original works to high quality frame-able gicleé prints and art cards, with the intention of making her art accessible to collectors of all kinds.

Come on out to the gallery to see what beautiful and intricate tiny works of art she has created !
