This past weekend, we celebrated the opening of our summer exhibitions at Vernissage & Swirl and our public reception! ✨
In our Gilbert Gallery, IN MOTION: Making Art Dance juried by Peter Sparling explores movement, gesture, and rhythm through a dynamic range of works, with artist awards presented during Thursday evening’s celebration.

Our Bonfield Gallery features MODERN MOVEMENT: Martha Graham and Barbara Morgan, showcasing Morgan’s iconic black-and-white photographs from the 1930s and ’40s and her remarkable ability to capture fleeting movement and emotion through still photography.

And in the Atrium Gallery, don’t miss Plein Air Adventures: Students of Susan Glass, a beautiful collection of watercolor works inspired by the natural world.

All three exhibitions are now on view—stop by the galleries and experience them for yourself!

Submit your artwork by June 2 and be part of this vibrant annual tradition! All proceeds from the event support CTAC's mission to create ways for people to connect, learn, and grow through the arts. About the event:
Now in it's 29th year, Dart for Art is a CTAC's premier summer fundraiser held this year in Bay Harbor, Michigan. The Dart for Art Gallery features more than 200 pieces of original artwork including paintings, photography, jewelry, ceramics, sculpture, glasswork and more! During the main night of the event, guests get to "dart" or run for a work of art when their group name is called at random to take home with them at the end of the night.

🌞What a lovely way to open up shop on a Saturday! I unlocked the door and put out the Open flag and up walks Bill from East Lansing. Born and raised in Petoskey, he would come here when the building was the Methodist Church and fondly recalls looking at an old woodland scene mural that used to be on the wall while waiting for his parents, coming up with stories in his mind. He attended school with Ernest Hemingway’s nephew and left after graduation in the 1950s to live life, working in retail for 40 years.

An art appreciator, he noted on his way out that he spent over $1000 buying art “in his mind”😄. We get it, and we’re so glad for the time he got to explore and find joy in the arts during his morning visit to Crooked Tree Arts Center!
