Companies often want their lobbyists to hobnob with Washington lawmakers and regulators. Comcast has taken that to new levels in recent years, increasing lobbying expenditures by 23 times over 2001 levels, to $18.8 million last year. [David Cohen] has a new target for its lobbying: regulatory approval for a $45.2 billion deal to buy Time Warner Cable Inc.

Comcast has WAY to much power, and it's not just Philadelphia's problem. It's Americas problem.

With the Time Warner Cable deal, Comcast would not only lock up 30 percent of the cable market, but pricing leverage in all directions — with customers, networks and over-the-web providers like Netflix.

Says a lot about Wells Fargo when they lock students in a branch for protesting the bank's contributions to the school-to-prison pipeline!

Check out the video from our action last December when we partnered with local students and held a class inside Wells Fargo to highlight the bank's bad swap deals which took more than $35 million from Philly schools to help fund bank's prison investments.
