Ray Beldner’s sculptures are a burst of colorful textures on our gallery walls! These organic shapes are inspired by artists like Henry Moore and Jean Arp and hand-assembled by Ray into playful, dynamic forms. Their patterns come from art history books and auction catalogs, bringing pieces of famous artwork in conversation with one another. Do you recognize any of these collaged patterns?

For art-lovers, Soft Architectures brings together a wide variety of artists and techniques for a rare opportunity of media-specific reflection and discovery. Stroll through the gallery and enjoy the range of creativity and innovation that our artists can pull from paper.

For collectors, Soft Architectures presents a rare opportunity to acquire museum-caliber works by internationally celebrated artists alongside compelling regional voices. Works on paper often provide a direct and unfiltered encounter with an artist’s process—where gesture, mark, and material converge with immediacy. This exhibition highlights the depth, innovation, and structural complexity achievable within the medium.

The right art installation can bring color, brightness, and cohesion to your home. We loved this client installation featuring a painting by .rutstein installed in the thoroughfare of the home. With big windows and an open staircase, the painting becomes the first thing you see when you step inside and a crown jewel of our client’s contemporary art collection.rutstein

Take a walk down memory lane this morning, courtesy of ! In 2022, we were thrilled to help facilitate a special exhibition of Dina’s work at the The Bower: Native Garden and Sculpture Park. Urban Garden featured 12 of Dina’s welded assemblage sculptures in conversation with The Bower’s gorgeous natural scenery. We loved seeing Dina’s work shine during this exhibition ✨

Not many people know that Dina’s stainless steel sculptures can be installed indoors or outdoors! We love seeing how collectors and exhibitors choose to showcase her work.

Jason Woodside’s murals are truly one of a kind! For this custom mural in Costa Mesa, Jason focused on composition, taking inspiration from dappled light and trees. The dimensionality and bold mix of colors make this mural stand out as something truly special!

Where would you love to see a Jason Woodside mural next?

Have you heard the incredible story of the Ama? These Japanese female divers inspired Julie Goldstein’s woodcut series, The Fisherwomen. Julie says:

"In 2015, I learned about the Ama and was struck by what an extraordinary group of women they were—the last generation of divers continuing a practice that spanned more than 500 years. I was able to locate stories and portraits from the period that impressed me most, between 1930 and 1932.

These women worked as a team, using their naked bodies to endure frigid waters while collecting seaweed, abalone, and pearls, which they later sold on the docks. Because they had more body fat than men, the Ama became iconic as Japan’s only female diving teams. They earned more than men and were highly respected within their society. I chose this period because the level of training required—to stay warm in cold waters, hold their breath for up to three minutes, and row their boats to and from shore was especially profound during a critical moment in world history."

Julie’s work often documents and celebrates the feats of amazing women in history. Her colorful prints and natural gift for storytelling help us to feel a connection with these empowering women of the past. Want to see more of Julie’s work? Stop by our current group show, Soft Architectures, or reach out to us and learn more!

Ten years ago today, we had just opened Neil Anderson’s solo exhibition, Quartet for America. The show was anchored by a quartet of 72x96" paintings along with some smaller works, allowing for conversation between pieces. Each incorporated variations on red, white, and blue and contrasting colors. Associations with music and the classical quartet structure informed the relationship between the works, with the intensity of sound suggested by degrees of color contrast.

Did you see Quartet for America when it was originally on view?

Your home should be your happy place - and artwork becomes such an important part of making your space feel special to you! I loved installing this mixed media painting by in this client’s dining room. The composition of the painting mirrors the two delicate, organic chandeliers that hang over the dining table, and its vertical lines work perfectly with the stunning windows on the adjacent wall. Our goal is to help you find artwork that feels harmonious in your space and makes you smile every time you walk by!
