Bold colors, dynamic geometric patterns, and bright, saturated colors: late artist Frank Stella’s collection of women-made Diné textiles will take your breath away.

Mostly assembled in the mid-1960s, these Navajo weavings will be on public display for the first time at Arader Galleries in NYC ahead of a sale.

Stella’s holdings are proof of the artist’s preference for “examples of creative innovation” — diverging from the cultural and historical benchmarks that characterize other collections.

“ What Frank admired so much was the workmanship and the artists who made them,” said Harriet McGurk, the artist’s wife.
