What a fantastic evening for PI-Philly! 🇮🇹🥂

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for our aperitivo Positano Coast

It was wonderful to see so many members of our community - from longtime friends of PI-Philly to professionals who have only recently arrived in the area - all sharing conversation, connections, laughter, and excellent drinks in such a warm and relaxed atmosphere.

Dear Friends of PI-Philly,

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended this past Saturday’s lecture, HOW CESARE BECCARIA AND THE ITALIAN ENLIGHTENMENT SHAPED AMERICA'S FOUNDERS AND EARLY AMERICAN LAW, organized by the Consulate General of Italy in Philadelphia in collaboration with PI-Philly, Professionisti Italiani a Philadelphia, the America-Italy Society, and Bryn Mawr College, as part of the series marking the 250th anniversary of the United States.

The lecture offered by Prof. John Bessler was truly inspiring, offering a compelling exploration of the influence of Cesare Beccaria on the Founding Fathers and the lasting relevance of his ideas in today’s debates on the death penalty. It was wonderful to see such a full room and to share a vibrant and engaging morning together!

A special thank you to Professor Bessler for his insightful talk, and to The Athenaeum of Philadelphia for graciously hosting it. We look forward to welcoming you to the next event in the 250th anniversary series on April 16, organized and hosted by the Consulate General of Italy in Philadelphia.
