Summer’s coming and so are our new exhibitions!

In gallery 1, Arnab Gan Choudhury (), “My Bonnie lies over the ocean,” is an exhibition situated at the core of identity, childhood wonder, grief and displacement.
In gallery 2, duo show, “How to Map an Echo,” by Stephanie Manzi () and Katharine Suchan () takes us on a journey to reconsider how we understand contrast and color through collaboration and intersection.
And finally, gallery 3 will host the collaboration of Lara Bros () and Q***r Space Philly’s () pop-up exhibition, “Divinely Q***r,” a multidisciplinary reimagining of the 33 works of tarot but told through the lens of queerness.

Mark your calendars for June 6th, from 5 to 7 pm for our June Opening!

✨Only 🔟 days left to apply for our Fellowship and Residency program for 2027 ✨

The Da Vinci Residency Program is designed to support historically underrepresented and underserved artists at any point in their careers. However, it is typically geared towards artists in a transitional period of their practice. This refers to artists who have recently graduated from a program, full time caregivers who are trying to find time for their art practice, people transitioning careers, a recent move, etc. Please feel free to apply if you feel like something in your life is calling out for time to focus on your practice both individually and amongst a community.

Applicants may only submit to either one Fellowship track or the Residency each cycle. Applicants who submit to more than one track are disqualified from the review process.

You can find the applications in our opportunities section located at davinciartalliance.org/fellowship-residency

The Da Vinci Fellowship + Residency Program is made possible by individual contributions, DVAA Membership Dues, and a generous grant from the Joseph Robert Foundation.

The DVAA Exhibition Committee is looking to feature work that fits into at least one of these suggested categories:

⭐️ Works that feature iconic national symbols, monuments, pivotal historic events, or influential figures. These historical visual anchors can serve as points of entry into deeper conversations about national identity and memory.

DVAA recognizes that we are living through a period of profound social, political, and cultural tension. As such, we encourage submissions that move beyond commemoration and instead interrogate the present moment. What does freedom mean in today’s United States? Who has access to it, and who remains excluded? Where do we see fractures in the democratic system, and how do those fractures manifest in daily life?

We also ask artists to imagine the future. Within the next 250 years, what might a more equitable, inclusive, and fully realized democracy or alternative political system look like? Show us work that articulates or even shapes your vision. Utopian, speculative, and aspirational works are encouraged, offering space to envision a more perfect nation.

We welcome work that grapples with these questions in nuanced and personal ways—whether through expressions of disillusionment, resistance, hope, or ambiguity. DVAA aims to create a space for dialogue through this exhibit. One that acknowledges the complexity of the American experience, expressed through the work of our artist community.

Artwork featured is “Rally” by Kathleen Beausoleil, “Digital Collage” by Jay Edward Roth, “Pact,” by Viola Bordón, “The Animals Run Away,” by Judith K Brodsky, and “Our World Apologies to the Innocents,” by Gary Grissom.
