We are honored to host Sharon Cosgrove as our featured artist this First Friday, June 5th!

Sharon’s transcendant paintings are composed of countless layers of transparent acrylic, archival ink, oil, and cold wax. Her artistic approach is harmonious with her subjects, which are grounded in nature yet elevated by her otherwordly compositions.

Regarding her process, she has stated, “I work to resolve the intersections of transparency with opacity, transience with permanence, and the ethereal with physical aspects of nature. In studio practice, as in life, I seek a quality of significance, meaning, and grace.”

Steven explores the multiplicity of landscape paintings, rendering each subject with a dynamic range of emotions. Foreboding skies, farm life, and retired railroad equipment are rendered with equal reverence for their unique forms and personalities. Whether the painting is moody and atmospheric or light and cheerful, the results are always masterful.
