Hey Philly Artists! Interested in creating a piece for our upcoming exhibit? Spend your newfound free time creating a piece inspired by Freedom! See more info below!

In the news and online, we're seeing lots of restrictive words like "quarantine," "confine," "isolate," etc. What we aren't talking about is the freedoms that come with these restrictions. We have our nights to ourselves. We have our weekends back. We have time to look within ourselves. We have time to pursue hobbies of self expression we otherwise wouldn't have.

This week, we're challenging our fellow Philadelphians to create something that pertains to "freedom." Whether it's a painting, sculpture, video, song— whatever. We want to see your artworks at various stages of completion, so use the hashtag to share your photos with us & other artists. If you're proud of your piece, you can use the link below to submit your artwork to be considered for our upcoming "Philadelphia's Freedom" exhibition, comprised completely by local artists!

The National Liberty Museum invites you to participate in this year’s “We Can Be Heroes” exhibition in conjunction with Philly Loves Bowie Week (January 3rd – 12th)

As we mark Bowie’s birth date and the four-year anniversary of his passing in 2020, will once again be hosting events throughout the city of brotherly love to honor the late singer, songwriter and actor – many of which will benefit the Cancer Center at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).

The National Liberty Museum will be kicking off this excursion of Bowie-themed events with the “We Can Be Heroes” exhibition. This exhibition will explore the influence that David Bowie has had and continues to have on contemporary art, showcasing mixed-media artworks with figurative and abstract representations of David Bowie himself.
