Women's Committee Penn Museum

Women's Committee Penn Museum The Women’s Committee of the Penn Museum champions programs to stimulate interest & help support the Museum while promoting Museum membership and attendance.

About The Women's Committee:

In 1937 a small group of women, primarily wives and relatives of Penn Museum’s Board of Managers, formed the Women’s Committee to help stimulate interest in the Museum’s research and educational programs, and provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Today, 50 members strong, the Women’s Committee works actively to develop and champion new programs designed to introduc

e Penn Museum to a wider audience, broaden its base of members and supporters, and help maintain its operation. Over the past five years alone, the Women’s Committee has contributed over half a million dollars to help support Penn Museum in its mission to offer the public an opportunity to share in the ongoing discovery of humankind’s collective heritage. The Women’s Committee funds have supported the professional development fund, provided funds for audio tour devices, helped to refurbish the Kress Entrance, and provided ongoing support for education and outreach programs
