Today's issue of the Washington Post contains a very special feature: a piece on Barbara VornDick's remarkable research journey that culminated in the repatriation of the remains of Eliza Monroe Hay, James Monroe's elder daughter. Barbara is a retired educator and part-time interpreter at Highland, which was the Monroe family's home for 27 years. We are thrilled to see this recognition of her dedicated work.

Eliza Monroe Hay will be reinterred with her family tomorrow afternoon in Richmond's Hollywood Cemetery ; read "Buried in France in 1840, a president's daughter comes back home" on the Washington Post's front page(!) to learn how this journey began.
