"With hate on the rise, it is as important as ever that all of us stand together and speak out."

We mourn the loss of Dr. Clarence B. Jones: civil rights leader, attorney, advisor to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and a powerful voice against antisemitism.

In recent years, Jones spoke openly and unapologetically about the historic bond between Black and Jewish communities, the indispensable role Jewish Americans played in the Civil Rights Movement, and the importance of standing with Israel at a time of growing division.

May his memory be a blessing.

Some letters change history. ⚓ In September 1776, Robert Morris wrote to Captain Isaiah Robinson instructing him to prepare the Andrew Doria for sea “with the utmost expedition.”

Soon after, the ship sailed from Gloucester, NJ and into the story of “The First Salute.”
