Thank you to all who attended our Flame of Liberty Award and Gala. It was a pleasure to honor Dr. Daryl Davis with the Flame Award this year for his extraordinary work engaging members of the Ku Klux Klan and other white supremacist organizations in conversation. Through these personal encounters, he has persuaded numerous individuals to reconsider and ultimately renounce their racist beliefs.

At the National Liberty Museum, we believe that a freer, more understanding world begins with the courage to engage across differences.

That belief is at the heart of our Flame Award & Gala, taking place on October 22, where we will honor Dr. Daryl Davis with the Flame of Liberty Award.

A celebrated blues musician, author, and civil rights leader, Dr. Davis has spent decades using dialogue to confront prejudice and build connections across ideological divides.

His work is a powerful reflection of the ideals we champion: freedom of thought, civil discourse, courage, and respect for all.

We are proud to recognize Dr. Davis for his remarkable contributions to these values and the conversations that bring them to life.

Join us for a spooky day of family fun in Philadelphia’s Historic District! On Sunday, October 18, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Start your adventure at the Independence Visitor Center, where we’ll be handing out treat bags and maps for all trick-or-treaters.
