A lot of you know the rapper The Game. Well if you know me, I’ve been a huge fan since he was with Ya Boy, Juice, Cyssero, Clyde Carson. anyways. I spent like 40 hours drawing this piece for him. I hit him up on Instagram when I was about half way through with this piece and he responded and told me how dope it was! I was so hyped! He said he would share it and to hit him up when it was finished. Cool. I sent him the finished piece. Leaves me on read. Ghost. No worries he’s probably busy, no biggie. Well a few months later he says he needs an artist for some tshirt designs and promos, so I hit him up again like “Yooooo what up man!?” Leaves me on read. Ghost. Again, no big deal lol. Well today this dude messages me out of the blue talking about “Let’s work. Let’s make money. Your talents need to be seen” So I’m like aye ok! So I messaged him back and showed him the piece I did for him again and some of my work, and this dude is literally trying to ask me for money to have him to promote the free drawing that I did for him!?!? (Keep in mind, for a 30-40 hour drawing like this, I’m charging $350-$600) I took money out of my pocket to set time aside to find the 40 hours to draw this for him. lol. I could have been doing a commissioned piece to keep food on the table for my kids but I wanted to do something super cool for an artist that I have been a huge fan of for a long time. An artist that I thought out of anyone would respect the grind and hustle… and artist that I never thought would pull some lame s**t and try to eat off his fans. Like have people not supported you enough? Eminem didn’t hit you back so you have to go digging through Instagram DMs to try to get your fans to pay you??? lol What a lame ass dude. I know he will read this and probably think it’s nothing. but I work with a lot of respectable people in your industry and word of mouth is a mo********er. If this gets 5 people to stop supporting you and listening to your music, that’s 5 more people coming from each of them, and so on. There’s an old saying, what goes around comes around. So when your Spotify plays are no longer paying the mortgage, think about how you treat people homie.
