Please do your part to help us all have a safe and happy Independence Day this weekend. Share this water safety message with your friends to show your appreciation for the difficult job first responders do!

As much as we all love seeing the Columbus, MS Fire and Rescue Department Dive Team ready for action in this picture...

We want YOU to take action to keep you or your family from seeing them this weekend! Simple actions such as wearing life jackets and ignition kill switches, having a designated driver, and not swimming in undesignated swimming areas can save your or a loved one’s life. Please think twice before going out on the water without considering how to stay safe despite the hazards. We have experienced an extreme amount rainfall in the watershed of the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway this week. This high water will make the waterway more swift and treacherous for recreators throughout the weekend. Extreme crowding on the waterway is anticipated. Crowding makes it easier to have an accident. Please do your part to help us all have a safe and happy Independence Day this weekend!

We also want to take a minute to give a huge “THANK YOU” to our first responders along the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway. We appreciate the difficult job that you do! If you want to show them your appreciation, please share this post to spread the message of water safety to your friends!

Important information for the holiday weekend! The visitor center is also closed until further notice. We are sorry for the inconvenience!

The long July 4th weekend is almost here! We’re looking forward to our visitors coming to enjoy themselves over the next several days! But as a reminder, please note that all playgrounds, group pavilions, swim beaches, and the spray ground remain closed at this time, due to local health reports indicating increases in COVID-19 in the surrounding counties.

The health and safety of visitors and Project staff is our number one concern. As part of our safety precautions, Corps of Engineers sanitation crews are regularly cleaning facilities, and any facilities not on the current cleaning schedule will remain closed to ensure public safety. Please remember to keep social distancing in mind this weekend.

We hope you and your family enjoy a safe and memorable holiday weekend! And please remember “LIFE JACKETS WORN…NOBODY MOURNS!”

One of the most frequently asked questions we have received from the public recently has been "How can I purchase an America the Beautiful Senior Lifetime Pass/Access Pass?" We know that many of you who are eligible for these passes (Ages 62+/Permanent Disability) would like to use them this summer to receive a discount on camping in our campgrounds. Due to the overwhelming requests from the public, we have worked out a temporary solution! Even though our office remains closed to the public, this Friday, June 5th we will be offering a limited issuing of these two passes via curbside service! ONE DAY ONLY! SENIOR LIFETIME ($80) AND ACCESS PASSES ($0) ONLY! We will consider more curbside service days throughout the summer depending on the interest and success in curbside service.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Passes will be issued at 5000 N Frontage Rd. Columbus, MS 39701 ONLY.
Passes will be issued from 7:30am - 4:00pm.
Passes will be issued via curbside service. Please remain in your vehicle while being issued your pass. When you arrive at our office, please call (662)-245-5500 to alert us of your arrival if a park ranger is not already outside assisting other customers.
Debit cards are the only method of payment we will accept. No cash or checks.
If you have already paid full price for a camping reservation, but have not checked in yet, you will be able to modify your reservation to receive a refund equaling the amount of your discount. Follow the following steps through step 3, then enter the pass number in it's appropriate box under the Group Leader Details, and update your reservation.
