The Greenville Methodist Church as it appeared in old Greenville on Timmons Street. This particular building was built and dedicated on August 19, 1900. Greenville had a Methodist congregation as early as 1833. Services ceased during the Civil War. After the war, in 1866, the congregation was reorganized. They shared a weekly rotation of the "Union Meeting House" with the Baptists, Presbyterians, Disciples of Christ and Masonic fraternity. The building pictured was torn down and a new one built after the town was moved, due to the Wappapello Dam project of 1940. Many community members have been associated with this church.

Do you have memories of the Methodist Church in Greenville? If so please share.
