The Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas was founded in 1968, made a commission of the City of Pine Bluff in 1971, and accredited with the American Alliance of Museums (AAM) in 2001. ASC presents programming in the visual arts, performing arts, and the sciences through exhibits, performances, classes, and local partnerships. Education programming occurs on and off site and area schools are

encouraged to visit for free exhibition tours and hands-on activities. Classes are offered for children, youth, and adults with scholarships available. Gallery admission and family programming such as Second Saturday Family FunDay are free—thanks to sponsors, successful grant writing, and the generosity of the local community.

Our Movie Day was out of this world, and our Saturday Family Funday was electric - all thanks to everyone who joined us!

We loved seeing families learn about WALL-E's mission, apply critical thinking skills, and enjoy a fun dose of entertainment along the way.

Our Build-a-Bot Buddy afternoon program showed just how many creative directions one project can take. From mustaches to dolls to Monkey D. WALL-E, we were truly astounded by everyone's individual creativity!

It has been a pleasure celebrating your creativity and seeing the incredible talent you bring to the canvas. To the graduating students, we look forward to seeing all the ways you continue to grow and succeed in your creative endeavors.

🎭 Meet the Cast of Shrek the Musical 💚

Heather Lunsford (Mama Bear)- Heather is excited to return to the stage, having appeared in Miracle on Main, Memphis the Musical (Gladys Calhoun) and Matilda the Musical (Ensemble). She has been married to her husband, Eric, for 16 years and is a proud mom to Brandt, Brooks, and Bree. She enjoys singing, reading, binge-watching shows, and spending time with friends. Heather wants to thank her husband and her “littles” for their constant love and support.

Morgan Carrasquillo (Papa Bear)- Morgan Carrasquillo is making her stage debut in Shrek the Musical and is thrilled to join the ensemble for her first production! A scientist by day and a creative spirit by night, she enjoys “momming,” volunteering in her community, and exploring her imagination. Inspired by her children to step outside her comfort zone, Morgan is excited to embrace theatre and help bring a little extra magic—and a touch of mischief—to the swamp.

Zabdiel Hyche (Baby Bear)- Zabdiel is excited to make a third comeback at the ARTx3 campus and is ready to have fun! She's from Little Rock and has studied Music Sound Recording Technology at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. For fun, Zabdiel likes to be in the recording studio, singing, dancing, being a musician, and acting. She is small but has a big firecracker soul that bursts into flames of talents!

Our cast of Shrek the Musical is bringing big energy, big laughs, and some VERY big costumes to the stage this summer at the ARTx3 Campus! 👑🧅

Many of the elaborate costumes can get extremely hot under stage lights, and we want to help keep our actors cool, comfortable, and safe both onstage and backstage during rehearsals and performances. 💚

We’re currently accepting donations of box fans, tower fans, ocsillating fans, small portable fans, etc.

🎭 Meet the Cast of Shrek the Musical 💚

Lily Jennings (Little Pig 1)- Lily, the daughter of Matthew and Crystal Jennings, is a 16-year-old homeschooler who is so happy to be part of the show! Her previous credits include The Lion King Jr (Nala), George A. Romero’s Night of the Living Dead™ Live! (Judy), and Finding Nemo Jr (Bubbles). Lily is especially excited to share the stage once again with her sister, Violet. She hopes you enjoy this happily-ever-after adventure!

Damir Johnson (Little Pig 2)- Damir has appeared in numerous productions at ARTx3, including The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood, The Outsiders, and Puffs. She trained in dance for eight years at Powerhouse Dance and Tumbling, graduating in 2025. A multi-talented artist, Damir is also a 2nd degree Black Belt in Taekwondo and enjoys crocheting, drawing, and hairstyling. She will begin cosmetology school this August, starting an exciting new chapter.

Violet Jennings (Little Pig 3)- Violet has been lighting up the stage since she was just 6 years old and shows no signs of slowing down! She is thrilled to share the stage once again with her sister, Lily. Violet is the daughter of Matthew and Crystal Jennings and has previously played roles such as “Pumbaa” in The Lion King Jr, “Bloat” in Finding Nemo Jr, and “Wilbur” in Charlotte’s Web. She hopes you enjoy the show!
