THIS SATURDAY is going to be a fine time for 'twine(d) mind! The eponymous Teresa Audet Studio LLC will be ending her celebrated run at the gallery with a send-off artist reception and front porch party from 4-6 at The Apple (255 Main Street, Lawrenceville).

Come by, say hi, and get ready to have your noggin twisted like the bent canes in a woven basket.

May be fiber be with you! May at The Apple features a lovely new show of canes, wires, strands, and cables all doing their fiberous curlicue twisty-turney insie-outside back-and-forthsy put-your-left-foot-in thing.

Teresa Audet Studio LLC 's "Intertwined" does all that with the clean classy aplomb of a gallery show dozens of times its size.

The show is up now through the end of the month. We'll have an artist reception/porch party May 30. Details to follow.

"Restoring imperfect order to the chaos" is Kathie Hollingshead's meager goal -- if only we had some chaos to restore from, amirite?

Kathie's "Reconstructions" show has been up for a week and it's garnered peeping eyeballs from neighbors and passers-by alike. Now you too can join in the putting things back together fever--or just hang out and eat a Triscuit. Either way, we'll be having an artist reception and/or front porch gallerython this Saturday, April 11, from 4-6.

Stop on by, say hi, and join the good guys--we could use you.

No foolin'! Kathie Shissler Hollingshead is putting the country back together, one strand of tea-dyed linen at a time.

"Reconstructions," Kathie's new show at The Apple is a collection of fiber pieces that involve "tea dyeing and deconstructing a length of coarse linen, then carefully piecing together the remnants through stitching, pulled-thread embroidery, and beaded embellishments. Each square is a meditative improvisation; restoring imperfect order to the chaos. While evidence of the damage serves as a visible testimony to the destruction, each square holds my hope that, in the end, we will reconstruct a more caring and compassionate future."

"Reconstructions" is up now through the end of April.
Details on an artist reception/front porch party to come.

THIS SUNDAY! The weather appears to be favorable once again to pull out the folding chairs, crack the mixed nuts, and open up the front porch to art lovers, ne'er-do-wells, and random passers-by.

That's right, La Vispera, the two-person collective of Kelly Jimenez and Alejandro Franco, will be here for commingling, kibbutzing, and art talk. You, patron of fine arts, are more than welcome too.

We're running this one a little later in the day so that visitors can see the exhibit backlit and glorious in later-day dusk.

It's a new month and while we may not have ants in our pants we've got the little guys quite literally crawling in, around, and on top of the gallery.

La Vispera, the two-person collective of Kelly Jimenez and Alejandro Franco, christens the month of March with a new backlit piece of single-use plastics in a piece called "A Colony of One." You'd swear it was stained glass but for the very purposeful reminders from whence the materials came.

"A Colony of One" is up now through the end of March. Best experienced *both* in daylight and lit up for the night, so plan on a return trip.

DREAMS FROM THE MUDROOM is the new show by Suzanne Werder's Art and they take the little window into the psyche into a whole new plane of two- and three-D eccentricities to wow the mind and warm the body in this, the cruelest month.

These "Dreams" are installed and ready for the viewing now through the end of February.

New year, new art! Lyra Hunt kicks off 2026 with "Through the Grapevine," a show of pen-and-ink drawings that range from the botanical to the fantastical and cartoon serene to apocalyptic doom--sounds just right for life in America, 2026.

Lyra's installation is chock full of little images, dense with detail and deft with penstroke, so you really need to get in close and poke-see your way around. That is, if--and when--you're ready to go into the eye of the needle, over the crooked river, and *through the grapevine*.

Just in time for the ho-ho-holiday season, Laura " Laura Ann " Stuart's scrappy angels, betassled adornments, and bojangled brocade say "more is definitely more ... and we've got even more of it." The "more" in this case is fun, inventiveness, and handmade...ism. Ain't no A.I. involvement here as real live materials are turned into really wonderful tiny creations to sparkle in this dreariest of weather.

Up now through the end of month/year.

ALL FOR ME. NONE FOR YOU.

This isn't the 90s, man--if you've got a piece of pumpkin spice cheesecake, you jam it in your own throat. Like Bruce Hornsby told us, that's just the way it is.

Kirsten Ervin delivers an early Thanksgiving/say-goodbye-to-SNAP message for the season in a powerful food justice message with a recycled-food-packaging medium that needs to be seen--ahem, *consumed*--in situ to really deal with.

The pieces exists for the awareness of
https://give.pittsburghfoodbank.org/for/donategpcfb/info/header_menu_link
and
https://www.wesa.fm/identity-community/2025-10-30/pittsburgh-donate-find-food
so Kirsten--and everyone here at Apple HQ--hopes everyone may eat tonight ... and every night.

Up now through the end of the month.

One (Hallowe’en) night only!
From the Silver Apple private collection it’s Geezer, Bill, Tommy, and evil Ozzy welcoming the demons, wizards, … oh, and young princesses, Disney characters we’ve never heard of, and a bunch of kids who threw on a football shirt as they were walking out the door. Whatever. Black Sabbath plays at the Witching Hour—or 5pm, whichever comes first—for all ye who venture round Apple way.
