Looking for a relaxing way to pass the time this summer? Need a break from the heat? Settle into the Mattress Factory Shop & Café with coffee and a snack. Bring a book or buy a book, claim a cozy corner, and linger a little longer.

Whether it's summer break and you're searching for something to do or you're simply carving out a slow weekend for yourself, our café is open. No museum admission required.

Mattress Factory Shop & Café is located at 500 Sampsonia Way, Pittsburgh PA 15212. Free parking is available at 509 Jacksonia St.

At 500 Sampsonia Way, the energy has... shifted.

Over the past several days, Mattress Factory neighbors have reported what appear to be golden skeletons scaling the ivy around their homes. The neighborhood cats have convened at odd hours of the night, staring up at Hans Peter Kuhn's "Acupuncture" on the roof of the museum, as if awaiting something... but what?

Above the installation, lighting crackles expectantly, contained within the footprint of the city block. What magic and mischief is afoot?

Within the museum's buttressed façade, many makers' hands toil to conjure a spectacle; transforming corridors to cathedrals, crafting curiosities, obtaining oddities, and arranging for an evening of buzz and bustle. Spent energy potions are seen strewn throughout the space.

It appears as if... perhaps?

Yes.

Garden Party: Gothic has arrived.

Take shelter in the garden for a spell and dance through the storm.

🦇Check-in is at 500 Sampsonia Way. Identification is required. Carpooling or rideshares are encouraged. 🦇

Doors open for VIP at 5:30 PM.
Doors open for General Admission at 7 PM.

Valet is complimentary for VIP ticketholders and available for $10 for General Admission ticketholders.

The museum resumes regular operations tomorrow at 1 PM.

Ticketholders are encouraged to check their emails for information from Mattress Factory regarding event details. Entertainment schedule + event map are included in this communication, as well.

For those who like to plan ahead, this info can assist you in figuring out where you want to be and when throughout the night.

The event schedule and map will be available inside the venue, but we encourage that you keep a copy on your mobile device for ease of use! Tag your ghouls, boos, and goblins you're attending with so everyone has a copy!

It's movie magic! 🍿🎥✨

For Mattress Factory exhibiting artist Ting Tong Chang's exhibition, "The Hidden Shift," the artist cast Mattress Factory staff as the stars of a film noir-inspired story set inside a fictional macaroni factory.

One moment staff are greeting visitors, making copies, and troubleshooting the daily workings of a museum. The next: a detective, a capitalist, a union leader, an anarchist, and a cast of factory workers caught up in a murder mystery. The resulting multi-channel film and installation is a twisting metanarrative that dissolves the boundaries between art and labor, performance and production.

Swipe for a glimpse behind the scenes, where even the film's most melancholy characters were, in fact, having a pretty good time.
