This photo was taken in 1962 at the intersection of Washington Road and Academy Avenue during Mt. Lebanon's 50th Anniversary parade.

The photo shows Jeff Coghill, who donated the photo, and his brother. The car was a 1926 Wills-St. Clair belonging to George MacCormac, owner of Mac & Mac homebuilders. "George was our neighbor in Sunset Hills and was my father, Joe Coghill's, employer."

Let us know if you remember this 50th anniversary celebration!

We’ve had a lot of questions about our post about the Wildcats and wanted to clarify:

The Wildcats organization was founded by Bob Prince and two all-star former Lebo players, Ave and Jim Daniell, as an independent community-run operation. The Wildcats teams played concurrently with the Mt. Lebanon school football team (approx. mid-1940s through 1953) with regular season games taking place at Wildcat Field (now Clint Seymour Field) on Cedar Blvd. You can learn more about the league through original audio from the Wildcats “1946 Porridge Bowl” game on the Historical Society of Mount Lebanon’s YouTube channel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGlf1eu-2A4&t=1s

Huge thanks to the Daniell family for the history and recordings!

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

: Does anyone remember taking the Dinkie Trolley? 🚎 The Dinkie was a trolley that traveled between Clearview Common in Mt. Lebanon to Castle Shannon. It operated on a single track, so the conductor would move from each end of the car at the end of each trip. This photo shows the Dinkie leaving Clearview Common in 1952.
