Meet the Art for Animals judge!

Matt Simon is currently an Art & Photography teacher at the North Hills High School where he has taught for the past 19 years. Matt holds a B.F.A. from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a major in Graphic Design and a Minor in Drawing, as well as a PA Teaching Certification in Art from Carlow University. Prior to teaching, Matt worked as a graphic designer in Pittsburgh, but decided to change careers after almost 9 years in the corporate world to pursue his passion for teaching art. He currently resides in the North Hills with his wife and two daughters, where he enjoys taking walks with his dog and spending time with family and friends.

- Colorful annuals: zinnia, snapdragons, marigolds, etc
- Coneflowers
- Sage
- Lavender
- Flax (seed or plants)
- Calibrachoa
- Creeping phlox
- Peonies
- Clematis or other deer resistant climbing plants

James Tobin's media choices include photography, digital art, drawing and painting. James work is strongly influenced by Impressionism and surrealism. He enjoys creating worlds he hopes people would like to visit.

James is an award winning artist who has shown his art in galleries throughout Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia. He has been a featured artist at the Oglebay Institute Stifel Fine Arts Center, Pittsburgh Cultural Trust Art Crawl and Merrick Art Gallery. His artwork can also be found at Tobin Studios in Crescent Township, Tobin Studios satellite location at Aluminum City Arts in New Kensington and at Bottlebrush Gallery for the Arts in Harmony PA.

He is the Vice President of the Cranberry Artists Network, Social Media Committee of West Hills Art League and a member of the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh, Beaver Valley Artists, Fiberarts Guild of Pittsburgh, McMurray Art League, North Hills Art Center, Pittsburgh Pastel Artists League, Pittsburgh Watercolor Society, Pittsburgh Print Group, and Pittsburgh Society of Artists.
