We are so excited to announce that artist Cathy Olivar has been selected for our newest residency program at the museum, the Art Intervention Residency! This residency tasks the artist to focused on temporary site-specific art interventions that will create new moments of awe and wonder to complement and enhance the existing exhibit galleries and interior spaces.

Cathy Olivar is a first-generation Latina American fashion designer based in Pittsburgh, PA. She received her B.A. in Fashion Design at Marymount University in 2018. With a main focus on sustainability, her work aims to promote and advocate for slow fashion and sustainable practices. She works with materials ranging from natural fibers to secondhand material, deadstock fabric, and vintage textiles. Cathy is inspired by nature and exploration, and has an affinity for flowers.
