A gallery talk with Donna Van Bogaert will be this afternoon at 2 p.m. Donna will discuss how her farm background and undergrad experience at UW-Platteville informed her early impressions of her identity as an artist while seeing the limitations in that label, and how the study of art and psychology at UW-P was the springboard for future research in adult creativity and an eventual PhD in Cancer Communication with an emphasis in Cognitive Preferences.

She will reflect on how her art has evolved and how her eclectic professional experiences reflect the weaving of creative approaches from art to work and work to art. The current exhibition will be discussed as a manifestation of the journey finding voice and creative process.

What an exciting year! We shared a whopping eight art events this past academic year, including five art exhibits featuring artworks by teens, students, regional artists, and art faculty. We also hosted a holiday art and craft sale, an artist talk with Bill Mitchell, and our first Slow Art Day event.

It’s time for the gallery to close for the summer but be on the lookout for opportunities to submit your artwork to our shows and events during this next academic year. A call for art for the UW-Platteville Alumni Art Exhibition will be published very soon, and the Small Works Exhibition will return to Nohr Gallery in 2027. We can’t wait to see you back in the gallery this fall!
