WE’RE LOOKING FOR BOAT HATS!

The Point Pleasant River Museum & Lakin Ray Cook Learning Center is looking for old or new hats with a river, boat, towboat, steamboat, or marine-related theme to become part of a new museum exhibit!

Do you have a hat from a boat company, towboat company, marine business, river event, or anything featuring a boat or river-related logo or image that you’re willing to donate?

We have a fun idea for displaying them: we want to string the hats together and hang them from one of the rafters inside the museum, creating a unique and colorful display celebrating the people, companies, and vessels that have been part of life on the Ohio River.

If you have hats you’d like to donate, please let us know! We can make arrangements to pick them up, or you can drop them off at the Point Pleasant River Museum & Lakin Ray Cook Learning Center, and one of our employees will make sure they are safely stored until we have enough to create the display.

Whether it’s one hat or a whole collection, we’d love to give it a place in our museum and help tell the story of the river through the things people wore while working and living along it.

Help us fill the rafters with a little piece of River history!
