Title: FREE‑DUMB!

This painting shows the Statue of Liberty, once an emblem of hope and freedom, hunched in grief. In today’s world, many of the values she represents — justice, compassion, refuge — feel under attack every day. The red stripes of the flag behind her bleed, a visual metaphor for America wounded, fading, its ideals dripping away. Burn marks on the flag reveal the truth beneath the patriotic veneer: for too many, America no longer stands first for people in need, but for money and power.

Under Lady Liberty’s mantle, those seeking refuge are robbed; others discard or neglect the refugees in makeshift tents. At the same time, government or city officials inspect and remove these refugee shelters — symbolic of institutions policing suffering instead of alleviating it. Meanwhile, vast wealth is spent frivolously by the few, while a fraction of that could lift up so many more. Corruption, greed, and apathy run unchecked.

Lady Liberty is tired — ashamed, mournful — for how far this nation has strayed from its promise. FREE‑DUMB! is the cry of this moment: a call to witness, to care, and to demand that freedom again mean something for everyone.

In light of recent events, we have made the difficult but necessary decision to postpone our upcoming event.

As a first-generation Mexican American, it has been deeply painful to witness the fear and anxiety impacting so many in our communities. We want to make it clear: we stand in full solidarity with our immigrant communities during this time.

Many of us, whether we arrived here ourselves or are the children of immigrants—came to this country in pursuit of a better life. A life where we could thrive, contribute, and build stronger communities together.

Our strength has always been in our diversity. It is through our shared cultures, experiences, and values that we uplift one another. We believe in unity not division. In compassion—not hate.

This is especially true in the arts, where we tell our stories, preserve our histories, and create beauty from resilience. Art is where we find connections and where our voices are heard.

We will continue to create, celebrate, and to stand with our communities. Always.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

This past Saturday, February 8th, we had the absolute pleasure of curating our beloved outdoor, rotating live art gallery. The amount of love and support we received was nothing short of amazing!

Artists from all over Southern California came together in Downtown Pomona, bringing their unique styles and flavors to the scene, creating an electric atmosphere.
