We had a great turnout at the museum for the Art and W**e Stroll Saturday night. Our featured artists, Heather and Lily Perrin, had a beautiful display of photography and paintings for sale and we had around 100 people tour the museum. We met alot of interesting people and the event was a success. We look forward to next year's event and hope to see everyone there!!

We have a "chunk" of the World Trade Center metal that was melted down in Amite in our museum. It was donated to us by Mr. Tony Blakeney, an instructor from SLU, who wanted it to be displayed so people could see it and touch it. He got it while he was working at the Foundry when they melted the scrap metal down. We thank Mr. Tony for his willingness to share such a piece of history with everyone. We will have a display built for it, but want to do something that will do this the justice and dignity it deserves. Stay tuned and come check it out!!

World Trade Center steel was brought to Louisiana and turned into a Navy warship.

This morning Cub Scout Pack 100 came to our museum and raked and cleaned the museum and memorial grounds. They raked and cleaned up, earning community service hours and sprucing up our grounds for the upcoming Art and W**e Stroll NEXT SATURDAY from 5 to 8 pm. Heather and Lily Perrin are our featured artists.
The scouts and their leaders worked hard and got everything done before it got too hot. They enjoyed refreshments and then toured the museum. There is nothing better than watching enthusiastic, inquisitive children working hard and asking questions about their past. We would like to thank their leaders Robert, Amanda and Sarah. SPECIAL THANKS to Ayden, Violet, Dominic, Jasper and Lincoln for getting up early on a Saturday and working volunteering your time and efforts to beautify our building and grounds!!

We are proud to announce our museum is participating in the Art and W**e Stroll on Saturday September 19th from 5 to 8 pm.
We are pleased to have local artists/photographers Heather and Lily Perrin displaying their work in front of our museum! They are very talented and will have a variety of items to view and select from.
We look forward to the 19th and hope to see everyone there.
While you are there, take a few minutes and come tour our museum. We will be happy to show you around and answer any questions you may have. See you there!!!

Upcoming Event at the Ponchatoula Library!!

Local Historian and longtime Collinswood Board Member Mr. Jim Perrin will be presenting Part 4 in his Series on the History of Ponchatoula from 1940 - 1960 at the Ponchatoula Library on Thursday August 6th at 6 pm.

You may want to get there early to get a good seat!

Board member Barton Migues (right) and long time employee Daniel Taylor stand in front of our museum with the newly installed pet microchip scanning station donated to the city by Kat-Vet Spay Neuter and Rescue (katvet.org). Instructions on how to use the station are on the sign and the area is well lit at night. We thank KatVet and the city for the opportunity to assist in reuniting lost pets with their owners and helping with pet control in Ponchatoula.
