💛 definitely a major part of my childhood spent here!

In Pennsylvania, it’s not a creek. It’s a crick. Don’t come around here with your fancy “creek” pronunciation like you just got back from a wine tasting in Connecticut. A crick is where you flip over rocks to find salamanders, lose your shoe in quicksand mud, and haul drinking water for your uncle’s moonshine still. A crick is where half of us learned to swim and the other half got tetanus.

You don’t “kayak a crick.” You don’t “picnic by the crick.” You go down the crick and hope you don’t get hepatitis when you cannonball into it. Your grandma will yell “stay outta that crick, you’ll catch your death!” while your cousin Ricky backflips off a log into three inches of water.

Creek. That’s some suburban landscaping feature with koi fish. Crick. That’s raw Pennsylvania childhood trauma, baby.

Submit one to three 12" x 12" pieces
No entry fee

Requirements: MUST be 12" x 12" exactly. Nothing smaller, nothing larger. Measurement of outside edges must be 12" x 12", including any frame. Wired on back for hanging, gallery wrapped canvas and cradled wood must have finished edges. NFS okay.

Get creative. Push your comfort zone. Change the format and see what magic happens!

Intake: In person Wed. Oct. 1 at Walk In from 10am - 1pm (pieces not measuring exactly 12" x 12" will not be accepted)

No shipped work

Opening Reception: Friday, Oct. 3 6-8pm

COUDERSPORT ICE MINE ICE JUNE 8, 2025

In case you haven't heard, it has been very rainy throughout the month of May and again now in June in northern Pennsylvania. Much of the ice around the viewing area railing around the mine has melted over the last two weeks. (Rain causes the most ice melt in the mine.)

The good news is that with this melt, you can now see down into the mine and observe the icicles that formed, the ice on the floor, and ice on the rock walls of the mine. We still have very thick ice on the viewing platform itself.

This picture was taken at closing this evening. (We have lights that are turned on in the mine when we are open.) Thought this was an interesting picture.

Although the weather has been horrible over the past several weeks, the Coudersport Ice Mine has had guests from 24 different states since our 2025 season opening Memorial Day weekend. That number generally grows into the high forties - sometimes all 50 states - as we head through the summer months.

Hopefully, sunny and warm days are ahead.

Soooo I haven't posted about my new space as of yet.... but I think it's almost finally worthy. 😊 I'm currently set up at Vintage 61 Storehouse! You can find my artwork, and some really awesome one of a kind, or hard to find antiques, vintage, funky pieces, in their warehouse! You should stop and check them out! Tons of talented vendors in this beautiful store! Super excited to be here! 🥰
