Our Story
Located in the Iron Center Museum in Port Henry, NY, the Town Historian’s office and Moriah Historical Society on the second floor offer a unique collection of resources for genealogy, local history, and iron mining industry research.
The Iron Center Museum is housed in an original Witherbee, Sherman & Company building next to the Moriah Town Hall, also a historic Witherbee, Sherman & Company building. The museum features exhibits highlighting the mining and railroad history of the Town of Moriah. Many items from the Historical Society's collection are exhibited in the Iron Center which is open from June to October.
