Sneak peek at something we are happy to unveil! Eghart House is open for the season starting on Saturday, May 23 from 1 to 4pm. We are here to guide you through the house any Saturday through Labor Day weekend. Come see what's new!

The Judge Eghart House is gearing up for the 2026 season. There's lots of exciting developments ahead! The Board of Directors is seeking volunteers to assist at the house. Volunteer opportunities include two types...guides and board volunteers/"behind the scenes". It’s fun to learn about the history of Port Washington this way. Guides get everything they need – a guide book, training, and assistance through their first tours. "Behind the scenes" volunteers are needed too - all volunteers are invited to an end-of-season celebration as a thank you for their time and effort. This worthwhile and rewarding project offers the opportunity to learn, to meet interesting people, and to make a contribution to the community.

Each volunteer guide is asked to lead tours on three Saturday afternoons throughtout the summer from 1-4 pm, as well as occasionally for special weekday tours. The time commitment is approximately four hours per month during June, July, and August. There are volunteer opportunities available for both guides and behind the scenes/board volunteers.
