The Air Zoo is a highly charged, multi-sensory aerospace and science experience that goes beyond anything you've ever seen - like no place else on Earth! With over 100 historic and rare aircraft & spacecraft, indoor amusement park-style rides, interactive hands-on exhibits, flight simulators, and movie theater there is truly something here for everyone! With two unique centers, docents and multi-s

ensory exhibits guests can enjoy an entire day exploring. Did you know that the Air Zoo boasts a world-renowned restoration center? Located within the Flight Discovery Center, restoration volunteers are on-site to give guests an up-close and personal look at some incredible aircraft being restored right on the exhibit floor! Fly in aircraft and bi-plane rides are also an exciting activity you will find at the FDC! From onsite field trips and tours, to homeschool programs (in-person and live-virtual), birthday parties and community science events, to class inspired Virtual Learning Labs, there is something to inspire kids of all ages! On June 2, 1958, the Vought XF8U-3 Crusader III took to the skies for the first time.

Designed as the next step after the F-8 Crusader, it went head-to-head with the F-4 Phantom II.
Only five were built before the program was cancelled.
