We’re on the edge of our seats! In exactly one week, will make their debut in Portland. The focal piece of “The Earth Laughs” exhibit, curated by Sima Familant, will be a massive 12-monitor floral installation created by internationally renowned art collective, teamLab, which explores the evolution of a flower – from inception to withering and mortality – over the course of an hour. The installation, which unpacks the fascinating intersection between nature and human perceptions of the natural world, also includes a motion sensor to enable seamless interaction and engagement.
It is a rare treat for Pacific Northwest art enthusiasts to experience teamLab’s immersive, experiential work on display in an intimate setting. The experience at the Lobby will be completely unique compared to other venues. Instead of a pre-recorded image, the presentation is created by a computer program that “continuously renders the work in real time.” What’s more: “the interaction between people and the installation causes continuous change in the artwork, thus previous visuals can never be replicated and will never recur.”
We can’t wait to see you all there!
