Portlands Rain of Glass

Meetings: PROG has monthly meetings (except August) where we meet to discuss glassware and to become better informed about glass and other collectibles.

Portland’s Rain of Glass (PROG) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3), educational membership organization that was started in 1978 to inform and educate individuals who have an interest in collectible glass. We are fortunate to have as members some of the nation’s leading authorities in beautiful glassware. We have a Show & Tell table or a “Bring & Brag” time where our “experts” can identify a piece that othe

rwise has no markings. Meetings include a glass “Pattern of the Month”, a guest speaker or program on glassware or other collectible items. We usually have a “Show & Sell” table for members who want to display glassware they have for sale. Our refreshments are second to none and always served elegantly. Our extensive reference library, with books that may be checked out, is available to members at our monthly meetings. Members can order and receive a discount on selected books and reference materials.

You'll want to join us for our annual HOLIDAY POTLUCK at the next meeting of Portland's Rain of Glass on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at 6:00 pm at Central Lutheran Church at 1829 NE 21st Ave at Schuyler Street in Portland. We'll have a a presentation on “Console Sets.” Bring one of your favorite Console Sets to share and to place on your own table for the evening. And bring your favorite Holiday Potluck Dish to share. Turkey and Ham will be provided by PROG as well as refreshments.

Bring your favorite candy dish, fill it with your best candy and wear a costume. Prizes awarded for the best candy dish and the best costume.
