Art House Picture Frames will be closed Friday, January 30th, 2026 in solidarity with our immigrant neighbors, friends, and family members. We are aware that one shop closing its doors for one day does not say much, but when Portland businesses come together, we demonstrate strength. We show that the people of Maine will not tolerate the fear and derision being spread by this administration’s reign of terror. We are unified in our love of an America that opens its arms to welcome those who seek refuge. Together, we are powerful!

🎨 The Painted Ladies of Maine: A Celebration of Women’s Artistic Voices
Portland, Maine — Art House Picture Frames is pleased to present The Painted Ladies of Maine, a compelling two-month group exhibition showcasing the vitality and vision of Maine-based women artists. Running from June 3 through July 31, 2025, this exhibition features expressive and deeply personal works that reflect each artist’s unique relationship with landscape, memory, and imagination.
An opening reception will be held on Thursday, June 12, from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Art House Picture Frames, located at 61 Pleasant Street in Portland. Guests are invited to meet the artists, enjoy refreshments, and experience the power and beauty of art grounded in place and community.
The exhibition includes works by Anne Clark, Diana Coit, Emily Johansen, Sandra Long, and Carol MacLeod, and spans a wide variety of media and styles—from abstract to representational, intuitive to meticulously planned. The Painted Ladies of Maine celebrates the diversity, creativity, and strength of women artists thriving across the region.
