1990s flier for Lunachicks (NY), Big Meat Hammer (ME) and King Ghetto Chicken (??) at Zootz in Portland, Maine. Looking for this info: What year was this? Who was King Ghetto Chicken? Was Action Trash a zine, or just a faux zine for this flier?

Update: posted this is a Sanford specific group and got a bunch of info. Chancery Lane was a club from the late 90s to early 2000s. They had all ages raves/DJ nights and and live music that was typically 21+. This show was probably in 2001 with local metal bands, 24 Stitches was from Sanford and Jackhammer was maybe from Brunswick? Both of these bands have members still playing in metal bands locally.

Help me figure out this super interesting mystery flier! No idea what year this is from (although in guessing 1990s?), I'm not familiar with these bands or this venue. This might be the first old flier I've seen from Sanford. What can you tell me about this one? From the collection of Skummy Bob Farrington.

2000 flier from a show at the Presumpscott Grange in Portland, Maine. Looks like a mostly local show with Lunch $ Thugs, The Taxis, Skin Flutes, Don't Hit Your Sister and One For Today. I'm familiar with all of these guys except One For Today, can anyone tell me more about that band? From the collection of Skummy Bob Farrington.

I went to see Billy Bragg a couple months ago. As usual it was a great show, I definitely recommend seeing him live if you are fan. In the meantime, here is a live recording from that show. https://archive.org/details/billybragg2026-06-22

1997 calendar flier from Zootz in Portland, Maine. Lots of good shows on here, with local regulars BMH, Pinkerton Thugs, and Cerberus Shoal. Touring HC acts Sam Black Church, 25 Ta Life and Blood for Blood. Touring metal headliners Eye Hate God and Testament.

It was great seeing the Downeast Hardcore documentary at Official Insta for Geno’s Rock Club yesterday. The movie was great, loved the collection of fliers/ ephemera (whoever owns that stuff, DM me if I can borrow it to make archival scans) and being in crowd that stoked is always a good time. Most of all it was heart warming to see Kathy Kave get her flowers. I want to see more of that s**t in the world. Kathy clearly loves hardcore, and the scene, but her love for her Kave Kids burns bright and it’s beautiful to see.

1985 flier for a show at The Den at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. The most familiar band on this bill is The Brood, featuring Chris Horne, who has been a part of the Portland scene since the early 80s... and still is! Her current band just put out a new record.
