Strawbery Banke Museum is a 10-acre campus dedicated to bringing 300+ years of history to life, from Indigenous history to the present day, in the Puddle Dock neighborhood. Tour historic houses on their original foundations, meet engaging costumed roleplayers, watch traditional crafts demonstrations, and explore historical gardens and landscapes. The Museum is a place for children, adults, multigenerational families, and groups to gather to explore heritage gardens, historic buildings, crafts, preservation programs, hands-on activities, stories told by costumed roleplayers, and the changing exhibits that offer hours of fun and discovery. The Museum’s restored buildings and open space invite visitors to immerse themselves in the past. The Museum welcomes 110,000 visitors, members, schoolchildren, and volunteers who love New Hampshire history for daily programs, exhibits, skating, and signature special events throughout the year.

Strawbery Banke announces that Linnea Grim, President and CEO, Thomas W. Haas Endowed Chair, has accepted a new position as President and CEO of Historic Deerfield, beginning in April 2027.

Since joining Strawbery Banke in 2023, Linnea has helped guide the Museum through a period of growth and change. We are grateful for her leadership and dedication to the Museum and its community, and we wish her all the best in this next chapter.

Linnea will continue in her role at Strawbery Banke until mid-March, and the Board of Trustees will begin a national search for her successor.

It's almost spooky season on the seacoast! The Trail has lots of Halloween events this year, including cemetery tours through Portsmouth Historical Society and a trick-or-treating through the historic Puddle Dock neighborhood at Strawbery Banke Museum.

Rain or moonlight, the ghosts will be out! There’s a little rain in the forecast for Ghosts on the Banke this weekend, but this is New England, and we all know how quickly the weather can change.

Ghosts on the Banke is a rain-or-shine event, so don’t let a few possible raindrops scare you away. Whether you’re a mermaid, a pirate, or a landlubber, grab your rain boots, pack a raincoat, and get ready for some spooky-not-scary fun. After all, a little water never bothered a mermaid!

Strawbery Banke Museum stands on the homelands of the Abenaki people, whose cultural and spiritual connections to this area continue today. As we recognize Indigenous Peoples’ Day tomorrow, we invite you to learn about Abenaki and Wabanaki peoples, past and present, through the People of the Dawnland exhibit in the Jones House.

The Museum will be 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝟏𝟎 𝐀𝐌 𝐭𝐨 𝟒 𝐏𝐌. Join us for a day of learning and exploring.
