We had our first Watercolour Workshop! I believe it was a success and hope everyone enjoyed it. We had fabulous artist! Watching then work and develop their paintings was fascinating. We will plan for another one, so watch our calendar of events on our website.

Hello Friends of Powhatan! Come join us for our annual Holiday Open House on December 10 from 9 am to 3 pm! We will have craft stations set up, kettle corn, and plenty of holiday cheer. So mark your calendars and come see us for the open house!

Hello Friends of Powhatan Historic State Park!!

We are pleased to announce that we are hosting our annual Ghost Walks tour of our historic buildings! Join park staff and listen to ghost stories, folktales, and legends . what makes the rattling in the jail? Who is that in the second story window of the courthouse?

We have two days of tours on October 22 and 29 with tours at 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm. Tours are by reservation, so give us a call at 870-878-6765 to schedule your tour today!

Hello Friends of Powhatan Historic State Park!

We are currently working on creating museum exhibits for our newly renovated Powhatan Methodist Church! As part of the exhibit, we are looking for anyone who might have photos of the church, of a family that you know worshiped at the church, or even pictures of the church in the background. If you or anyone you might know has any pictures of the church, then now is the time to pull out those photo albums! Give us a call at 870-878-6765 or send us an email at [email protected] or [email protected] within the next two weeks.

Even if you don’t have any pictures of the church but do have pictures of the town itself, please reach out as we are always looking for any pictures that help us tell the story of Powhatan!

We have a workshop coming up on August 20 teaching beginner embroidery skills! We will be learning how to embroider letters, and we will be using our State Park logos to teach a few different techniques. No prior experience is required and all materials will be provided by the park.
