Congrats on Womenscrafts 50th Anniversary!!!!

A huge thank you to Michele Axelrod. It is difficult to express gratitude for all that you’ve done for our community. You are the beautiful beating heart of the le***an culture in Provincetown. You have held us, nurtured us, and helped us grow.  Over the past couple decades q***r culture has gone through many changes, and it is very different to be a le***an now, than it was 50 years ago.

Your stewardship through this transition has been imbued with love, patience and deep understanding. Along with countless others, Toys of Eros thanks you and salutes you.

Don’t get it confused—we are under direct attack! The FDA is targeting any merchandise that people may use to affirm their gender choices. They are attempting to outlaw binders. It is understood that if these companies don’t call them binders and don’t describe them as being used to bind breasts, they can “get away” with selling them.

That is not the point, and that is not the answer. The point is that this administration is trying to make gender fluidity illegal. It is not okay for us to lie and say that this merchandise is being used for something else. We have to fight back; we can’t just hide. That’s what they want. They want to make us feel wrong. They want to take us back to the ’60s when almost everyone was forced to be in a closet, when everyone was ashamed of being q***r.

I hope these companies won’t capitulate. Toys of Eros will never capitulate. We exist to celebrate and exalt the q***r experience and the magnificent q***r community. We were born of love and pride for the q***r community, and we will stay that way forever.

We will never change our wording to fit in with this insane administration that wishes to erase everyone but cisgender, white people who are threatened by anything outside of heteronormative behavior. We will never hide the fact that we are q***r, that we sell merchandise for q***rs, and that we are deeply proud to be q***r. They will have to forcibly close our doors because we will never capitulate to them, we will never twist words for them, and we will never hide who we are from them.

Remember who we are. Remember what we have accomplished in the past five decades. We know how to fight. It is past time that we do!

DO NOT SPEND MONEY ON ANYTHING! ANYWHERE !
• Do not make any purchases.
• Do not shop online, or in-store
• No Amazon
• No Walmart
• No Best Buy
• No McDonalds Fast Food
• Gas
• Major Retailers
• Do not use Credit or Debit Cards for non essential spending.

WHAT YOU CAN DO:
Plan ahead for Food, Medicine, Emergency Supplies. If you must spend, ONLY support small, local businesses.

SPREAD THE MESSAGE
• Talk about it.
• Post about it.
• Document your actions that day!

WHY THIS MATTERS!
• Corporations and banks only care about their bottom line.
• If we disrupt the economy for just ONE day, it sends a powerful message.
• If they don't listen we make the next blackout longer.
• This is our first action.
• Our numbers are powerful.
• This is how we make history.

WE MUST USE THE POWER WE DO HAVE.

Toys of Eros will be celebrating Black History Month. Toys of Eros will amplify its efforts to support DEI, including not purchasing merchandise from any manufacturer or distributor who supports this new reign of pettiness and hate.

Toys Of Eros will fully participate in the February 28 boycott by closing its doors!

Dear Toys of Eros Customers,
We recently received a Yelp complaint that we’d like to address for clarity. The complaint states:

“The store is a blatant example of hypocrisy. They say they are accepting of all people, but that is BS. I was asked to leave because I opted not to donate to the Harris campaign. I was treated like dirt because my husband and I are straight, with standards that didn’t meet their expectations.”

To clarify, this customer was neither asked to leave the store nor denied service, and she was certainly not solicited for a donation to Kamala Harris's campaign. We do not ask our customers for donations of any kind. Instead, as indicated by the prominent sign outside our store shown here, the Toys of Eros team made a personal decision to allocate our profits to her campaign.

During their visit, the customer shopped in our store, assisted by our sales educators, and then brought their purchases to the counter. When informed that the proceeds would support Kamala Harris, she expressed her objections and requested that the profits be directed elsewhere. Our sales team was unable to accommodate this request. This is not hypocrisy; rather, it reflects our commitment to transparency regarding where our proceeds are directed.

At Toys of Eros, we support Kamala Harris for a variety of reasons. We are genuinely concerned that without her leadership, we may face significant challenges, including the potential rollback of marriage equality, restrictions on the products we carry, diminished autonomy over our bodies, and possible threats to our ability to sell certain products.

I find it perplexing that a couple who chooses to vacation in Provincetown—engaging with businesses like Toys of Eros that celebrate the freedom and Q***r joy inherent in our community—would simultaneously support individuals whose values do not align with those principles.
