Tonight, Oct 16th, 6 - 8pm, as part of our Women’s Week show, we are screening A “Decade in a Flash,” a film featuring vintage footage from Pride parades and D**e Marches of the 1980s. This film was made by Elizabeth Carney-Novak, and produced by Cathy Crisafulli. Elizabeth and Cathy have true Ptown soul, and we’re delighted to present their work. Stop by to experience the exhibition, enjoy the film, and have some c***r and snacks.

This Friday, October 16, from 6 to 8 PM, as part of our Women’s Week art show Color and Connection, Four Eleven Gallery will screen A “Decade in a Flash.” This 90-minute film features vintage footage from Pride parades and D**e Marches of the 1980s and ‘90s, seen through the eyes of Elizabeth Carney-Novak.

At 82 years young, Carney-Novak has been a Provincetown fixture since the 1970s. She teamed up with her friend and executive producer Cathy Crisafulli to create this fantastic homage to the women who shaped her life. I first met Elizabeth Carney-Novak in 1985 when I was 14 years old working at Pennsylvania Company in the center of town. She is an artist with a true Ptown soul. We share a last name, an Aquarius Sun sign and a real love of this place. xo the other Liz Carney

Friday night, October 16th, from 6 - 8 pm, Four Eleven Gallery will host an opening for our Women’s Week Show. The through-line in every piece of the show is the color. There is also the camaraderie of our connection to each other through the gallery. Tia Scalcione’s stunning oil painting titled “State of Mind” is the piece chosen for our announcement. It serves as a reminder that claiming space in one’s mind and searching for beauty in turbulent times can be an act of resistance. We hope you’ll join us for conversation and c***r and treats next Friday night Oct 16th.

A huge shout out and Happy Birthday to this amazing artist. Paul is an instrumental part of everything we do at Four Eleven Gallery and is one of those people who makes the fabric of our town so rich and colorful. Paul Rizzo brings kindness, dedication, wisdom, attention to detail and that special joie de vivre to everything he does. Paul, we hope you have a fantastic day and enjoy some cheese and apple, a rainbow pattern, the delight of a muppet or two, a dancing Dahlia and maybe a good old movie. The spectacular artist Naya Bricher was honored last night by the Provincetown Art Association and Museum. A huge thank you to Chris McCarthy, 25 year Director of PAAM and also an honoree last night, for her support of the arts in our community and for making this opportunity happen for Naya. Since I was urged by John Gibson to meet Naya some fourteen years ago in the art studios at Smith College where she was working on an ambitious 8 ft x 8 ft painting, her talent has taken my breath away. A few years ago Naya painted a small painting of two women dressed in gowns, their faces turned upward to meet golden, glowing light. It’s as if the painting foretold this night would happen! Dreams really do come true. Congratulations Naya and thank you again to PAAM for seeing brilliance in our midst. Here are a few photos from last night and from some of her art openings through the years.

We couldn’t be happier and more proud of Naya Bricher who is one of this year’s PAAM Gala Artist Honorees. Congratulations Naya! Let the festivities begin. We look forward to partying and dancing with you all weekend. Your contribution to the art community and the very town itself is felt far and wide. Shine brightly!

See her show at PAAM alongside fellow honoree Derek Makara. Dance with us tomorrow night, Saturday 10/3, on the pier from 8 - 10pm.

Today is the last day to see Valerie Isaacs’ gorgeous show, Atmosphere. It’s been an incredibly successful exhibition, with 20 pieces going off to new homes. I’ve admired Valerie’s work for many years, and it’s a true pleasure to represent her in Provincetown. She’s a local fixture in our art community and brings so much to her painting practice and to her place in the town. Come by and see it before it closes! We are open today, Thursday, October 1, from 11 to 6 PM. If you’ve missed the show, here are 10 pieces that are still available. Valerie continues to make new work every day and we will continue carrying them all throughout the year.
Our hours this week are Thursday through Monday 11 - 6pm and until 8 PM on Friday and Saturday night.
