The Crevice Gallery

The Crevice Gallery Showing conceptually big work in a physically small space.

The Crevice Gallery pursues a variety of ideas and sentiments in minute, introspective detail with the dedication of a cat pursuing a mouse, occasionally disappearing into the folds of reality altogether for short periods of time.

Well, it looks like the Crevice is not the only teeny tiny art venue in town anymore! Everyone's talking about this grand opening in Somerville, MA this week...

A crowd gathered in Somerville's Union Square Thursday night to witness the historic debut of "the smallest museum in the world."

Happy Spring everybody. Just sending out a quick global response because I've been getting inquiries asking if The Crevice Gallery will open again this season at AMP. It will not -- The Crevice Gallery can only be in one place, one time, but it is available for commission by anyone interested in having (or giving) the experience of a roughly 14" x 14" x 9" curated space in their home or office. Meanwhile, you should go visit the space's new inhabitant The +14inches Gallery. And there's also this:

According to Wikipedia, a dead drop is "a method of espionage craft used to pass items between two individuals using a secret location." A dead drop allows for the exchange of objects and information "while maintaining operational security" because "the operatives may or may not know one another and...

Hey Crevice Fans!

Just a mid-Winter post to let you all know that Crevice Artist Carrie M. Becker made Gizmodo's "top 100 images of 2012" list! You have to scroll down past Mars, badass "Israeli girls who wear their assault weapons to the beach", and Lil' Wayne's headphones, but the messy office is on there.

Nice way to start off 2013 Carrie!

We've seen some incredible images this year. Aerial shots of Dubai, crystalline ice on the open sea, moments of war, portraits of bugs. From our own massive image cache, we selected 100 of the most fantastic photos from 2012.

Hi All,

Go and tangle while you can! Andi Sutton's "Future Memorial: All Caught Up" is coming down tomorrow and Antigone Ray's "Sloppy Sentences" is going up. It's your last chance to tangle and read, untangle and replace. Have you read all 92 or so memorial tags? Each is more thought provoking than the last...

IMPLICATIONS, which examines a few different types of ripple effects through the works of Boston, MA and Houston, TX based artists Andi Sutton and Antigone Ray, opens today--through November 4 (opening reception is on October 12, from 6-9pm.)

The first part of the show features Andi Sutton's interactive installation "Future Memorial: All Caught Up" (pictured here late at night.) Come in and see it in daylight--run your fingers through its threads, read the silver tags, and make a tangled mess out the fears and hopes for all of our futures that Sutton has captured in conversations about extinction with people just like you...
