STATE OF THE ART June 12, 2026
I’ve been experimenting with some new techniques and directions. This collection embodies the current state of my art, a fearless approach that is leaving me feeling vulnerable and fulfilled all at once. I cant wait to share with you about this journey.

BACKSHORE July 24, 2026
A series of new watercolors from my stay in the dunes. This is my third collection of watercolors and I’m having so much fun with the portability of this medium.

SPLENDOR August 21, 2026
Abstracted landscapes inspired by the beauty of Cape Cod. These pieces continue in the tradition of Vivid Tranquility, bringing the calming boldness of the color and essence of this place to life using my signature vertical convention of brushwork.

If I had to express all that is in my heart and head right now… this pretty much sums it up. There’s a little clutter and some direction, but mostly just large masses of color happening. They seem to nod at my emerging sense of a summer of freedom! Acrylic on 12x12 panel.

Studio followers: I know I haven’t posted much since moving on from my public-facing studio space two months ago. To keep you in the loop: I’ve just been roaming the desert, living through a blizzard and a cyclone, and am generally on massive recharge and regroup mode. I’ll keep you in the loop as things start ramping up. Lots of ideas, intentions, doodles and sketches bubbling up. What I thought I wanted to work on has graciously given way to what I MUST work on. Stay tuned!

I rarely hang my own work in my home. But, these two small watercolors bring me big joy. Both represent moments of delight I experienced while staying in a dune shack. The daily morning ritual of a small house finch serenading me while having coffee alfresco and the discovery of an unexpected drift wood sculpture after a hike to the beach. The “indoor camping” I’ve been doing this week in a powerless Provincetown reminds me of the dune shack life and what is really important. The small, treasured and gratefully measured moments of daily life.

Revisiting this painting I painted over 50 years ago. I think my reference was a photo from National Geographic. I was mesmerized with the amount of snow. All these years later, as a blizzard barrels down on New England, I’m reaching for the wonder and enchantment of my youth! ❄️🩵❄️
