According to yesterday's groundhog, we have six more weeks of winter. The happy family in this classic Glen Hopkinson painting titled "Grandma's House" doesn't seem to be bothered by the snow!

A personal note: I'm the little girl running in the painting. As a small child, I remember being so puzzled by the large shadow my dad had painted in the foreground. It didn't make sense to my little brain- the shadow just didn't match that old car! It was one of my early great mysteries, and I studied that shadow for quite a while before it finally dawned on me.
