We welcomed visitors today who’s ancestor Chief John Ross was the Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation back in 1838 When the Trails first Came through Pulaski as they led the Cherokee and members of other Southeastern Indian tribes West to Indian Territory.

Thank you Mr. Tim Ross
Jim Dahlman, & Rob Denning for making your way to the Giles County Trail of Tears Interpretive Center and Native American Museum as you walked (yes folks that’s right-walked on foot and camped at night) on
The original Benge Route out of Fort Payne AL ……

We’d like to thank Rosemary Martin for her assistance in getting yall here today and we appreciate the generous donation made to the Interpretive center !!
We hope you enjoyed your lunch at the Yellow Deli too!

We ask the creator for you a safe journey ahead with fabulous weather and restful nights under the stars as you make your way up the Benge Route …… we hope to see you again soon!

We had some great help today including Maggy Crawford and Cathy Wood who didn’t make it into these photos at the end of the day- as well as the crew from Tycon Excavating who did all the heavy lifting setting up and tearing down the pop ups for us!! We so appreciate our dedicated volunteers who worked tirelessly in the heat setting up and serving today!!
