Our friends from Homer-Center had an amazing time exploring the Weather Discovery Center! They scaled the ice wall like pros, were completely captivated by the topography box, and spent plenty of time discovering every nook and cranny of the folklore platform. They even took turns experiencing the power of our hurricane simulator!

We’re all excited and looking forward to Hot Dog Days 2026 Family Day on Saturday, June 13! 🌭🎉
But did you know the fun starts even earlier?
On Thursday, June 11 and Friday, June 12, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, we’ll be serving Hot Dog Days lunches to local businesses!

If you're a local business interested in ordering lunch for your team while supporting the educational mission of the Weather Discovery Center, we'd love to hear from you. Simply email [email protected] to request an order form. Pickups will be at the center from 11-1.

Each hot dog meal includes:
🌭 Hot dog
🥔 Chips
🥤 Drink
All for just $4.00!
Condiments and our delicious meat sauce are also available for those who’d like to add a little extra flavor.

🌭☀️ The Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Center is excited to announce our Hot Dog Days Family Day on Saturday, June 13, from 11 AM–3 PM!
Bring the whole family and join us in the Weather Discovery Center parking lot for a fun-filled afternoon featuring:

🎡 Carnival games
🎨 Face painting
🍭 Cotton candy
🌭 Our famous hot dog cart with $4 hot dog meals (includes a hot dog, chips, and a drink)
🍪 Free Smiley Cookie for the first 100 kids courtesy of Friends of the Weather Center

Grab your friends and join us for an unforgettable summer evening on Thursday, June 25 from 6–8 p.m. for Fireflies & Summer Skies — a cozy paint & sip experience led by local artist Kelly Porada of Kelly’s Arts & Crafts! 🖌️✨

Spend the evening surrounded by the charm of our beautiful 112-year-old building while you create a dreamy summer-inspired painting filled with glowing fireflies, warm night skies, and all the magical summer vibes. Escape the heat and get ready for a relaxing evening of food, creativity, and fun!

Sometimes when we turn the exhibits back on after a weekend, we discover some pretty interesting things left behind by our visitors — and every now and then, we even find a little love 💙

This sweet little gesture tucked into one of our exhibits gave us a smile (and a giggle) as we started our week. It’s always fun to see the memories and connections people make while exploring the Weather Discovery Center together.

We will be selling tickets through Sunday May 31. Be sure to stop by the Weather Discovery Center to order yours today! They are concourse level 100 seats for just $12!

The Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Center is excited to announce we’re heading to the concourse at Peoples Natural Gas Field for the Altoona Curve game on Sunday, June 28—and it’s shaping up to be a perfectly sunny Family Day at the ballpark! ☀️

Bring your crew out for a day that’s sure to be a home run: enjoy the game, explore our traveling exhibits on the concourse, and hang out with your Weather Center friends—all while cheering on the Curve. And the forecast? 💰A cool front of savings! Score Level 100 tickets for just $12 each. Game time is 1:00 p.m. as the Altoona Curve host the Reading Fightin’ Phils.

👟 Kids Run the Bases
After the game, kids 12 & under can round the bases like all-stars! (Children 6 & under may be accompanied by an adult.) Note: Like any good forecast, plans can change—this event may be canceled in case of inclement weather. 🌧️

United Elementary School had never been to the Weather Discovery Center before- and we could hardly wait to welcome them to the fun! They loved building mountains in the augmented reality landscape box, taking turns becoming Phil in our mini stump, finding our way-cool weather facts in the folklore landscape, scaling across the glacier ice wall, and working as a team to create clouds and thunderstorms. Thanks for spending the day with us United. We can’t wait to see you again next year!
