A Tallahassee native whose work is now part of the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art is coming home. Experience Generations, a powerful solo exhibition by Julie Torres, a lawyer-turned-artist whose work explores freedom, justice, democracy, and civic life through a unique artistic lens.

Join us for an evening of art, conversation, and community. Meet the artist, enjoy refreshments, and hear remarks from FSU College of Law Professor Jacob Eisler, Ph.D., J.D., as he reflects on the lasting influence of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and the role democracy plays in our daily lives.

Admission is free for Gadsden Arts members, children, and college students. Nonmember adults: $5

There’s still time to apply for the 38th Art in Gadsden Juried Exhibition! 🎨✨

Applications close Friday, May 15, 2026 at 5 PM EDT. This longstanding Gadsden Arts tradition celebrates the incredible talent of regional artists, and applications are now open for the final few days.

Eligible artists include current Gadsden Arts members living within 200 miles of Quincy, as well as former Gadsden County residents. Take the opportunity to share your work as part of this annual juried exhibition.

The Public Opening of “Generations: A Solo Exhibit by Julie Torres” will feature a special talk by Professor Jacob Eisler, Ph.D., J.D., of the Florida State University College of Law.

Dr. Eisler will explore the lasting impact of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and examine how law and democracy shape everyday life—offering insight that connects directly to the exhibition. Join us Friday, May 15, from 5:00–7:30 PM
